Welcome to the Stowaway Cottage website.
Situated on the historic east side of Whitby and dating from the
17th Century, Stowaway Cottage sleeps up to five people and offers well appointed accommodation over two floors.
Stowaway is centrally located in Whitby, with all the local attractions being within walking distance.
The cottage is close to the cobbled streets of the east side and
the 199 Abbey stairs are well worth the climb to reach the 6th Century
Abbey. The Captain Cook memorial museum and the new visitors centre
are also worth visiting. (View
interactive map).
A short distance from the town lies the North Yorkshire Moors with
its impressive steam railway, which runs from Grosmont through the
'Heartbeat' village of Goathland before terminating in Pickering.
The historic walled city of York is well within travelling distance,
as is the local stretch of the Cleveland way for the more active.
